Services

Consultation

First Consulatation: During the first consultation (1hr) I will take details of your daily food intake, medical history, and exercise regime. I will also measure your body composition so that we can monitor any changes that result from changes to your diet. Together we will identify practical steps which you can take to improve your nutritional status and achieve your goals while taking into account your particular dietary requirements and food preferences. After the consultation I will do a detailed analysis of your food diary and write a personalized dietary advice.

Follow-up Consultation: In the follow-up consultations (30 mins) (3-4 are usually required) we will discuss the dietary advice and monitor your progress. A report will be sent to your GP (only with your consent).

Home Consultation

If for medical reasons you are unable to travel to the practice, then a consultation can be arranged in your home. The additional charge for travelling to your home is also covered by your medical insurances, provided your GP/doctor has approved this request. Please check your policy for details.

Basic health insurance in the Netherlands covers the costs of 3 hours of dietary care per calendar year from a dietitian. These costs fall into the ‘own risk’ (Eigen risico) category. If however you have a chronic illness such as Astma, COPD, Diabetes , a heart condition or have had a stroke, then you may be eligible for ‘Network care’ (Ketenzorg). In this case the costs do not fall into the ‘own risk’ (eigen risico) category and you may be entitled to more than 3 hours of dietary care per calander year.

If you have supplementary health insurance (Aanvullende Verzekering), you may be covered for more than 3 hours of dietary care per calendar year. Please check your policy or contact your insurer for details.

About me

Catherine Teehan-de Greef. M. Sc. Diëtist

I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from the Hague University. During the final year of my study, I worked at the Geriatric Rehabilitation Centre & Nursing home at Zorggroep Solis in Deventer. The valuable experience I gained there inspired me to specialise in the care for senior citizens and those with a chronic illness. Given that I have a chronic illness myself, I can understand the challenges that an illness can bring.

Previous to that I graduated with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Dublin City University and spent over 13 years working as a product developer in the food industry. In my spare time, I like to cook, bake and cycle or run outdoors.

I am a fully registred dietitian and contracted by all the Dutch health insurance companies. I am also a registered dietitian with ParkinsonNet.
